Please follow these guidelines for installation, care and maintenance.

HANGING YOUR MIRROR

Every round, dressing and oval Reid and Wright mirror is traditionally drum-backed with craft paper

(take care applying pressure to this, as it could tear) and two brass mirror plates to ensure it hangs flush

to the wall from two appropriate screws.

Our Scallop mirrors and large sized Rectangular Orb mirrors are fitted with two picture hanging straps,

one on each side, which can be hung on appropriate screws in the wall.

Our handcrafted finishes can be particularly vulnerable and therefore touching these frames should be

kept to a minimum. When handling the frame, wear appropriate gloves, as oil or moisture from hands

could damage the finish on a frame and leave fingerprints.

We recommend using professional installation and fine art couriers, as the mirrors can be heavy, making

sure you are using the appropriate fixing depending on the size of mirror and type of wall.

Make sure there are enough people to lift it slowly and safely, particularly if it is one of our larger,

heavier mirrors, preferably lifting from underneath the mirror and supporting the sides. Make sure you

have the route and a space prepared to take the frame to the prepared wall screws.

CLEANING YOUR MIRROR FRAME

NEVER use any cleaning products or water on any Reid & Wright frames as it will damage our

finishes and remove any gilding.

Our hand-finished frames can be cleaned using a feather duster or a dry, clean, soft lint-free cloth

without the application of any pressure. If using a vacuum cleaner, take care not to touch the frame with

the nozzle.

CLEANING YOUR MIRROR GLASS

Spray your cleaning solution directly onto your cloth and never directly onto the glazing as it could run

down onto the frame itself and damage the handcrafted finish. Gently wipe the glazing, taking care to

avoid the cleaning solution coming into contact with the frame itself. Continue wiping until all traces of

the cleaning solution have evaporated.
